FAQ

We've put together some of the questions we're asked most often

Do you have Backup Equipment?

Yes of course we have Backup Equipment, we wouldn’t dream of leaving home without enough backup equipment to cover your event in the event of any piece of equipment failing.

We shoot with Canon’s Professional range of cameras and they top L lenses, this equipment is built to stand up to all the knocks and bangs you would expect, but just incase this isn’t enough we bring spares too.

All in we use over £30,000 worth of Camera bodies, lenses, lighting and all the additional accessories we find useful!

What happens if it rains?

Don’t worry we also bring enough lighting equipment to setup for your photos in a location inside your venue (venue permitting) to ensure we can still capture all the photos you have asked for in the event that the British weather lets us down.

Are you insured?

Yes of course, we are fully insured, not only do we insure all our gear (for our piece of mind) but also have professional indemnity & liability insurance to the value of £2,000,000. Which we hope should cover any accidents!

Before your Wedding Day

Do you recommend a pre wedding shoot?

Yes we do, and we actively recommend it. We even include a complimentary Love Story as part of our Wedding package. We have put together a blog post on why we recommend one, and some recommendations. Take a look here.

We’ll normally include your pre wedding shoot into our pre-wedding meet where we run through your big day.

What information do you need from us?

We’ll be in touch before your big day with all the information we need, this will normally involve venue contact information, photo lists (so you can let us know any specific requirements) we’ll work with you on your timings to ensure we have enough time to complete all of your photography.

How do I book you?

Get in touch letting us know your date and venue (and any more information you would like), we’ll then check our availability for your chosen date. If we’re available, £400 secures your date, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before you big day.

Your Wedding Day

We love to photograph weddings, its great to share one of the happiest days of your lives. We think its important that your wedding photography tells the story of your day, from start to finish. Our photography starts first thing in the morning, and continues right through until the evening at no additional cost.

We spend most of the morning with the Bride, taking the time not only to photograph the bridal party preparations, but also taking care to capture all of the special little unique details that are often forgotten, the shoes, the jewellery and most importantly the dress. This is also a good opportunity to help calm your nerves before your big day. We would normally recommend arriving at least 2-3hrs before your ceremony.
After finishing with the bridal party, we will then head across to go find the groom. After getting some shots of the groom, his bestman and the ushers, this is normally a good time to begin capturing guests arriving and catching up with friends and family. <br> Once all of your guest are seated, We will remain outside to capture the bride arriving.
During the ceremony we work discreetly to capture all the details your special moments. We do not use flash at all during the ceremony, and follow all guidelines of the marriage officiant. It is important to check for any photography restrictions when you meet with your marriage officiant, as these vary from location to location.
After capturing your first moments as a husband and wife walking down the aisle, our reportage style of photography really kicks in. It is at this stage we will hang back and capture images of your friends and family before they head to the reception. We would normally recommend that you allow 15 minutes for guests to congratulate you and grab their photos before allowing another 15/20 minutes for a more private photoshoot at the ceremony location. This 15/20 minutes gives your guests time to get to the ceremony, and more importantly both of you a little time alone.
Once at the reception we’re back in reportage mode, capturing your arrival, your friends and your family. This is also an ideal opportunity for us to grab some shots of your wedding breakfast room and all the little details that you have spent so much time planning. Next comes the group photo, its a good idea to get this during the reception drinks before your guest start disappearing to the bar. If we can get up high we will (we can bring a ladder if we need), and will try and capture the venue in this image too. The group shots are next, we try and make this a quick and painless as possible, injecting a little fun into these shots. Another private photoshoot normally follows, we would recommend allowing 30 minutes here, depending on the location. Again another breather for you both, this gives us the opportunity for some natural intimate shots away from your guests. Our coverage continues with the speeches either at the beginning or the end of your wedding breakfast.
After a quick break whilst you all enjoy your wedding breakfast, next stop is your evening, the cutting of the cake, the first dance and all the fun bits that accompany the evening. We are totally in reportage mode at this point, but are more than happy to do more group shots, how about a sunset shot of just the two of you? This is also the time for the photobooth to swing into action if this was requested. If you have anything special happening during the evening, fireworks maybe, or other entertainment, we are more than happy to capture this, we put not time limits on our coverage within reason.
